Judging Categories and Points

 

Each of four (4) judges will rate up to 100 points per act.

Highest total number of points that an act can receive is 400.

Technique	40 points
Performance/Showmanship	30 points
Choreography/Staging	10 points
Costume/Appearance	10 points
Overall Impression	10 points

Point Deductions

 

Point deductions will be issued by one designated person from the Black Heritage Festival Committee and presented to the judges for a deduction from the overall score received. ALL DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES ARE FINAL.

Use of inappropriate or provocative lyrics or gestures	15 points
Exceeding time limit	5 points
Other infractions of rules	5 points
